Bali Tax Evaluation

The government provincial of Bali was asked to re-evaluate the tax amount of wetland that is charged to the farmer owners of rice fields. Because of high taxes that led farmers field thinking to sell the lowland rice fields.

Chairman of SPI Henry Saragih on his testimony in Nusa Dua, on Thursday (10 / 3) states there should be a tax difference of wetland with soil the hotel, although the same location. It is to be able to keep the agricultural sector and agricultural land in Bali.

Henry Saragih even recommend to Bali to stop the construction of tourism facilities, in order to restrain the rate of land use in Bali.

“And indeed prohibit industry-wide scale hotel industry. For example playing golf, there need not be in Bali, then look for another island to play golf. Not necessarily in Bali to play golf, I frankly say, that illicit industry,” said Henry Saragih.

Henry Saragih hope that Bali is still able to maintain the agricultural sector and not dependent on the tourism sector. Moreover, the tourism industry is very sensitive to the situation. (MIT-Beritabalicom. Nusa Dua)
